Have you been hearing all about MCT oil lately and wondering what it is and how to use it? We’re here to tell you about it! It is highly regarded in the health community for many reasons. In addition to its many health benefits, MCT oil is great in many cooking applications and even on its own!

We’ve talked about the benefits of MCTs and the best whole food sources of MCTs before, but today we’re talking all about Wildly Organic MCT Oil.

What is MCT Oil?

No, it is not some oil that will help you take the MCAT or the ACT. MCT stands for medium-chain triglyceride. It is an easily digestible fat, as it is absorbed directly into your bloodstream and goes straight to your liver. As a result, it becomes a quick source of energy for your body, similar to your body’s use of carbohydrates.

MCTs are naturally present in coconut oil, coconut cream, palm kernel oil, and dairy products. Keep in mind, these products contain lower percentages of MCTs than MCT oil and contain lauric acid and other fatty acids.

Some benefits of MCTs include preventing obesity and helping burn more fat, which can help lower cholesterol levels (source). Additionally, it is optimal energy for your cells’ mitochondria use and increases your body’s metabolic potential (source).

Why Choose Wildly Organic's Oil?

Wildly Organic’s MCT Oil comes in the form of our liquid organic coconut oil, containing 100% medium-chain triglycerides. It is certified organic, non-GMO verified, gluten-free, vegan, paleo, and ketogenic.

Some companies’ MCT oil contains “filler” oils, such as palm oil. Wildly Organic's oil does NOT contain palm oil. Ours specifically has caprylic acid (C8) and capric acid (C10). These are shorter carbon chains that are more easily digestible.

How to Use:

MCT oil may be consumed on its own or added to smoothies, dairy-free shakes, coffee, salad dressings, soothing bedtime milk, delicious coconut-flavored treats and snack bars, and used for cooking—but only up to 320°F, to not exceed the oil’s smoke point.

If you decide to consume it on its own, take 1 tablespoon per day, exceeding no more than 3 tablespoons per day. Go slowly! Consuming too much MCT oil can cause dietary issues.
