Stovetop Cinnamon Apples {Vegan, Gluten-Free, Paleo}

Indulge this season with this simple, six-ingredient recipe for Cinnamon Apples! Made on the stovetop in under fifteen minutes these candied apples make a tasty treat!

As fall comes around, most of us are naturally searching for warmer, comforting foods with indulgent scents and a sweeter flavor.

And that’s exactly what this Cinnamon Apple recipe gives us!

These apples are a tasty combo of refreshing fruit and an indulgent sauce. The base is made with coconut milk and coconut syrup, giving an indulgent feel.

Like any great dessert, these Cinnamon Apples are made with only six ingredients and ready to eat in under fifteen minutes. You’ll definitely want to use up the extra apples this season with this simple dessert!

Is This Dish Paleo?

Yes! These candied apples are sweetened with coconut syrup which is a natural sweetener derived from coconuts.

Between the apples and the coconut syrup, this recipe is naturally pretty sweet. The cinnamon adds a nice touch and a bit of comfort.

How To Use The Cinnamon Apples

These candied apples are eaten as a dessert most of the time. They’re light and simple to make. Plus, they taste delicious all on their own or taste delicious on top of ice cream! Since the apples are made warm, you may want to cool them before adding them to the ice cream. But once room temperature, they add a whole new indulgence to a bowl of vanilla ice cream.

The cinnamon apples can also be used on top of pancakes or waffles or even mixed into a bowl of your favorite oatmeal.

Choosing Your Apples

For this recipe I used Fuji apples but any apple will work! That said, each kind of apple will bring a different flavor to these stovetop apples.

Some apples (like granny smith) are naturally more tart and while the sweetness of the recipe will come through, the flavor will still be different compared to say, Macintosh apples.

My advice is to use a variety of apples that you already enjoy or that you have on hand. Don’t limit yourself to just one!

    Recipe Notes

    You can cook the apples longer until all the sauce is absorbed or a bit sticky. However, most people enjoy the sauce to pour over waffles, pancakes, or ice cream.
