Frozen Coconut Dog Treat Recipes

I always knew that coconut oil was a wonderful ingredient for my own diet, but I just recently learned about the benefits of coconut oil for dogs, too! Coconut oil is great for dogs’ oral health, shiny coats, and so much more!

Once I did a little research, I knew I wanted to start making homemade coconut oil dog treats for my pup. Of course, you could give your dog a little bit of coconut oil on its own, but I knew my dog would love some treats if there was almond butter and banana included — two of her favorite ingredients!

Our frozen dog treat recipe is super easy to mix up as it only contains three ingredients:

  1. Wildly Organic Coconut Oil
  2. Wildly Organic Almond Butter
  3. Fresh banana

That’s it!

I love that these coconut oil dog treats keep well in the freezer for a few months. So all I have to do is make a big batch of these homemade frozen dog treats and pull them out as needed. I do recommend purchasing a silicone mold of any shape to freeze the mixture in. It’s much easier to pop these out of silicone molds than a metal muffin tin. Plus, you can find some cute shapes like dog paws or bones like I used!

It is really important to remember not to feed your dog any nut butter that contains xylitol, an artificial sweetener, since it is extremely toxic to dogs. In fact, always use natural nut butter in your coconut oil dog treats that only contain nuts and salt in them, like Wildly Organic’s high-quality Organic Almond Butter. No sweetener is necessary!
